Congratulations to Kelly Johnson, of East Point, KY, who won the Big Blue Slam SEC Tournament Getaway package! Have fun at the tournament, Kelly!
For the first time since Kentucky has battled Florida for blood, the Gators took home a victory.
Florida won the competition with a score of 1727 to Kentucky's 1628. Despite the loss, Big Blue Slam was a terrific week for Kentucky. The blood supply was restored to a very healthy level at a time when Kentucky has historically struggled to keep enough blood on the shelf!
Held Jan. 24-28, 2011, the Big Blue Slam blood battle gave Kentucky basketball fans the chance to prove that they bleed blue by donating blood. Big Blue Slam is a blood battle between basketball fans of the
University of Kentucky and the University of Florida, as well as a
friendly rivalry between KBC and LifeSouth Community Blood Center in
Gainesville.
All donors received a Big Blue
Slam T-shirt and were entered to win a trip for two to the SEC
Tournament in Atlanta. The tournament package includes two lower
arena tickets for all sessions and a three-night stay at the Atlanta
Downtown Marriott.
