LEXINGTON

-Mobile Phlebotomist

Screen and draw blood from volunteer blood donors. Travel by van or bloodmobile to sites in central and eastern Kentucky . Requires excellent customer service skills, high professional standards, and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Must work well with others and have a desire to work with the public. Hours vary and you must be able to work flexible schedules including weekdays and some weekends. Job appropriate (non-certification) training provided. (If you leave before one year, you must repay CKBC for training.) Full-time position. Starting pay up to $12.00/hr depending on experience.  Advancement opportunities available.

-Phlebotomist – Donor Room 
Seeking experienced Phlebotomist to screen and draw blood from volunteer blood donors. Hours vary and you must be able to work flexible schedules including weekdays and some weekends. Minimum $9.50/hr.
One position available for 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM and one position available for 12:30 PM - 8:30 PM.
 

-CDL Driver

Heathcare industry. Get paid while you train.

Seeking individual to drive bloodmobile throughout central/eastern Kentucky and perform basic medical screening to volunteer blood donors. Prior healthcare experience not necessary.

Requires CDL, good driving record, excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, strong verbal/written communication skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Must be a team player and have a desire to work with the public. Job appropriate (non-certification) training provided. Minimum age 25. Full-time, varied schedule invcluding some weekends. Minimum $12.00/hour.

-Distribution Technician

Seeking customer service oriented, team player needed for taking orders from local hospitals for blood products. Will be trained to prepare orders for delivery and perform the final product inspection prior to shipment.

Requires self-motivation, excellent customer service skills in addition to verbal and written communication skills. Also requires working knowledge of MS Word/Excel and a valid KY driver's license with safe driving record. Must be dependable, able to lift/carry 40+ pounds, and thrive in a fast-paced, and sometimes stressful environment. HS diploma/GED. Minimum age 25.


2 full-time positions. One on first shift, working every 3rd weekend, and one rotating position (rotates approximately every two months between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts), working every 3rd weekend. Job-specific training provided. Approx. 2-months training on day shift. Starting pay $9.50 and up based on education and previous work experience. Shift differentials apply to 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualified applicants must have advanced computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications. College degree preferred.

-Components Lab Tech

Proactive team player to prepare and label blood components from donated blood. Will perform and document lab equipment quality control and maintenance; and assist with maintaining, filing, and storing lab records.

Ability to evaluate information and recognize discrepancies, excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to stand for long periods of time required. Job-specific training provided. Full time position.

-Lab QA/QC Coordinator/Trainer

The Components Lab separates blood components from units of whole blood donated by volunteer blood donors.  We are seeking a responsible detailed oriented individual with a positive "can do" attitude to train lab staff and ensure quality and regulatory compliance in the department. The QA/QC Coordinator/ Trainer will assist with writing, updating, and analyzing standard operating procedures for the Components Lab. Responsibilities also include: oversight for quality control; evaluating staff proficiency and competency; validating lab equipment; maintaining files; and storing Components Lab records.

Full-time, M-F, 1st shift.

High School diploma or equivalent; MLT , MT or previous lab experience preferred.

-Data Quality Specialist / Document Control                      Seeking a detail-oriented individual for 2nd shift, to manage and control critical documents maintained by the IT department.  Will perform database record maintenance tasks and other data entry functions, filing, and verification of scanned documents. Will help with retrieval, receiving, and logging confidential documents; generate and distribute reports; will maintain and update databases; and train other department staff members as needed. Will work under the direction of the Team Supervisor and should be able to handle much of their job duties without detailed direction. All job-specific training will be provided. 

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 2:00 – 11:00 p.m. Must have basic computer, communication and customer service skills, excellent work ethic, and the ability to work without supervision.

-DEVELOPMENT AND RESOURCE SPECIALIST

KBC is seeking an outgoing professional, experienced in grant writing, to assist in the implementation of a comprehensive philanthropic program. Responsibilities include grant writing; special events management; and developing relationships with individual, corporate and foundation donors. Will maintain Raiser’s Edge database, coordinate direct mail campaigns, and provide administrative support as needed.

 

Bachelor’s degree; working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word; strong written and interpersonal relationship-building skills, the ability to talk comfortably with strangers, and a do-what-it-takes work ethic required. Individual must have at least 2 years experience in grant writing and/or fundraising with a nonprofit organization.
