More than half of the blood collected by Kentucky Blood Center is collected at blood drives set up at locations, such as factories, churches, schools and community centers.
These mobile blood drives are coordinated by volunteers.
The blood drive coordinators do everything from selecting the date for the drive to ensuring an adequate location to recruiting blood donors.
With the help of these dedicated volunteers, Kentucky Blood Center is able to reach donors where they live, work and worship.
