Eligibility

To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 16 years of age. Donors must also show a photo I.D., such as a drivers' license, school I.D. or other government identification. Sixteen-year old donors are required to have parental permission. The parental permission slip can be downloaded here. There is no upper age limit for donors. Travel in some areas and medications can sometimes defer donors.
