The Kentucky Blood Center is delighted to announce an exciting

S&S Tire. S&S Tire will give away
$10,000 to motivate other charities to recruit blood donors in
June!
We get more
blood donors and other non-profits raise money for their good
works. The competition is also sponsored by
WKYT and
98.1 The Bull - both will be promoting Charity
Challenge publicly in June.
Do you know a deserving charity
that could use some extra money? Tell them about this program.
The winning charity earns $6,500, second place gets $2,500 and
third place wins $1,000.
There are
slots for just 100 charities! All the charities have to register
online in order to be included in the competition.

Giving Away $1,500 in Gas
Blood donors who give blood to the Kentucky Blood Center April
19-May 2 will be automatically entered into drawings to win some of
the $1,500 in free gas the blood center is giving away to donors.
"If you fill our tank, maybe we can fill yours," said Jim
Tinker, Kentucky Blood Center spokesperson.
There will be multiple drawings in the two-week period.
Each week there will be two drawings with one blood donor winning
$250 in free gas, and a second blood donor who will win $500 in free
gas cards.

Each winner received gas cards purchased from a gas
station that serves their area. Blood donors who give blood at
Kentucky Blood Center donor centers or blood drives are eligible
for the drawings.
All blood donors also receive a KBC 40th Anniversary
t-shirt!

Barbershop Singers bring harmony and lifesaving to Kentucky Blood
Center on Sat. May 10.
Singing For Life Blood Drive
Singing for Life
is designed to be a major North American blood drive and donor
recruitment project. It is timed to occur during a period when demand
for blood strains supplies. May 10th is a day before Mother’s Day
and not long before Memorial Day Weekend.
With the help of Barbershop
Harmony Chapters across the country on May 10, the The
Kentuckians Barbershop Chorus will be hosting a “Singing for
Life” blood drive at The Kentucky Blood Center, 3121 Beaumont Centre
Circle in Lexington.
The Song of the Bluegrass
(a chapter of the Sweet Adelines) have volunteered to join the
Kentuckians in providing entertainment to donors on May
10.
The music starts at 9 a.m. and
will continue throughout the morning. The blood center will
be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
