Big Blue Slam
Jan. 28 - Feb. 1, 2013
During the 2013 Big Blue Slam, 1,607 Kentucky donors showed their Wildcat pride, but it wasn't enough to overcome an even stronger showing
from Florida. In the end, Kentucky fell to Florida, who brought in 1,878 donors. Of course, these competitions are always winning situations
for all involved, as the main goal is to stock the shelves with life-saving blood products for patients in both states.
Congratulations to Florida, and thank you to all the generous donors who took part in another successful Big Blue Slam.
On Monday, Jan. 28, we had our biggest Slam kickoff ever!
Donors got to give blood in historic Rupp Arena
and take a shot on the court. They also received a commemorative pint glass along with their other Slam thank-you gifts.
The Rupp Arena blood drive was certainly a first, but hopefully it wasn't the last.
Thanks for saving lives. Go Big Blue!
