Boost the Blood Supply After Difficult Summer

Kentucky Blood Center and WKYT are proud to partner for the 2024 WKYT Blood Drive.

Donate blood Sept. 11-12 at any of KBC's five Central Kentucky locations (Beaumont, Andover, Tri-County [Corbin], Frankfort or Somerset) and help boost the blood supply after a diffcult summer for blood collections. Appointment links are below.

Between warm-weather activities, family vacations and no school, summer historically leads to lower donor turnout as need remains consistent and often increases.

All donors who give blood Sept. 11-12 at the participating donors centers will receive a KBC "Fight Cancer" T-shirt and treats from sponsors Chick-fil-A and Donut Days. All promotions are while supplies last!

KBC is the proud provider of blood to more than 70 Kentucky hospitals, including UK HealthCare. Featuring UK Chandler Hospital, the only Level 1 trauma center serving Central and Eastern Kentucky, UK HealthCare receives 40% of all KBC's blood supply.

Additionally, 25% of the blood supply supports patients battling cancer. UK HealthCare's Markey Cancer Center is Kentucky’s only National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center.

Donations during the WKYT Blood Drive will support Kentucky hospitals like UK HealthCare and more that save Kentucky lives.
