September 06th - September 07th

It's time for the annual WKYT Blood Drive!

WKYT is once again partnering with Kentucky Blood Center to boost the local blood supply. WKYT and KBC are encouraging donors to give blood Sept. 6 and 7 at the Beaumont, Andover and Frankfort donor centers to stock the shelves for 70-plus Kentucky hospitals following Labor Day weekend.

Many blood types are currently low, and donors are needed to save local lives. All blood donated at KBC stays in state to serve patients at 70-plus Kentucky hospitals.

Help Jim Caldwell Get Off the Bus!

WKYT and KBC have set a two-day goal of 300 donors at the Beaumont, Andover and Frankfort donor centers. WKYT meteorologist Jim Caldwell is hoping Kentuckians can come through, otherwise he better get pretty comfortable on a KBC Bloodmobile.

Why? Jim will be locked on a KBC Bloodmobile on Thursday and won't be allowed to get off until the 300-goal threshold is met.

Will you help Jim get off the bus so he can get back to his family and his day job?

Donors who give blood during the 2023 WKYT Blood Drive will receive a KBC shirt, a Chick-fil-A gift card and a cookie from Donut Days Bakery.
