40% of All Blood Collected at KBC Goes to UK HealthCare
Kentucky Blood Center will be at the University of Kentucky April 6–10 to collect blood for local hospitals. It's the final opportunity of the 2025-26 academic year to give blood on campus.
Four locations are available to donate.
- Gatton Student Center (Ballroom A): Monday–Friday, April 6–10 from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
- William T. Young Library (KBC Bloodmobile): Monday & Tuesday, April 6 & 7 from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
- John Cropp Stadium (KBC Bloodmobile): Tuesday, April 7 from 3–7 p.m.
- Lewis Honors College (Scholars Student Lounge): Thursday & Friday, April 9–10 from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Donations typically take less than one hour and save up to three local lives. KBC provides blood to more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky, including UK Healthcare.
All donors will receive a "Support Your Local Blood Center" T-shirt and a $5 Starbucks gift card. KBC will also make a $5 donation to a DanceBlue team of a donor's choosing for giving blood (donor must fill out a slip at donation). KBC is proud to partner with UK Invests. A deposit will be provided by UK Invests into the enrolled accounts of students who participate in the blood drive.

UK Softball Blood Drive
Those who donate at the UK Softball game on Tuesday, April 7 during the Donate Life midweek series of games will receive special thank you items. In addition to the KBC T-shirt and $5 Starbucks gift card, donors will receive two complimentary tickets to that day's game vs. Eastern Kentucky at 6 p.m. as well as a UK Softball silicone wristband.

Four Locations Available to Donate
Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call 800.775.2522 or scroll down and click on a link below. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements.
