Current thank you item: Donating is My Favorite Elf T-shirt
LEXINGTON, Ky. – As the nation continues to be plagued by a critical blood shortage, the impacts continue to be felt in the Commonwealth. Throughout the pandemic, Kentucky Blood Center has experienced ongoing shortages, at times critical, and as summer always sees a drop in donations, the nonprofit is offering donors a great motivation to roll up their sleeves and donate this week.
Those who donate at KBC’s Lexington (Beaumont and Andover) and Louisville (Middletown and Hillview locations this week, June 7-12, will get treated to “Dinner and a Movie,” taking home a $15 Texas Roadhouse gift card and a Cinemark movie ticket. In addition, all donors between now and Sunday, July 4 will be entered to win a 2021 Toyota C-HR. Donors can come back and donate again between July 5-September 11 and they will be entered to win a 2021 All-Wheel Drive Toyota Camry.
“As the world ‘returns to normal’ this summer, we hope to see our blood supply bounce back as well,” said Mandy Brajuha, Vice President for External Relations at KBC. “With limited mobile blood drives and virtually no collections at Kentucky high schools this year, we have been feeling the pinch throughout the past year. We continue to urge volunteer donors to visit a KBC donor center or mobile drive as soon as they can and as often as they can to maintain a healthy blood supply.”
KBC provides services in 90 Kentucky counties from Pikeville to Paducah, with donor centers in Lexington, Louisville, Pikeville and Somerset.
Donors may give at any KBC mobile blood drive or donor center to be entered to win the Toyota vehicles.
