Donors Needed Due to Low Turnout Nov. 1, 2023

Uptick in Illnesses Has Led to a Downturn in Donations

LEXINGTON, Ky. – It's that time of the year when illnesses start to pop up.

Kentucky Blood Center has seen the recent effects from an increase in seasonal bugs and viruses, leading to an uptick in cancellations and low donor turnout. The need for blood never stops, so KBC is calling on healthy and able donors to step up to overcome recent shortages.

As of Oct. 31, KBC was in critical supply of O-, A- and B- blood types, putting local patients at risk.

Donors can schedule an appointment via the mobile drive link finder below, by clicking on the donor center locations home or by calling 800.775.2522.
