High School Student Wins $5,000 Travel Gift Card
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Seventeen-year-old Misty Collett of Floyd County has some exciting plans to make. As the first winner of Kentucky Blood Center’s Give & Go! summer promotion, Misty will receive a $5,000 AAA gift certificate that she can use to pay for a vacation of her dreams.
Misty was one of more than 7,600 people who registered to give blood in June. The rising senior at South Floyd High School had never donated blood before when she registered to donate at her high school blood drive early in June.
When asked where she’d like to go, Misty said she’d never really thought about it, but now she can start making plans.
KBC is rewarding volunteer blood donors with a chance to enjoy a dream vacation while helping to save lives. Everyone who registers to give blood at a KBC blood center or mobile donation location through Aug. 31 will be automatically entered into the Give & Go! summer promotion for a chance to win a $5,000 vacation package. There will be two more $5,000 winners this summer.
Misty Is the first winner of the summer. Two more lucky winners will be selected on Aug. 1 and Sept. 1. Each will receive a $5,000 AAA travel gift certificate.
