Kentucky Wins Big Blue Crush for the Fourth Year in a Row

Kentucky Blood Center won Big Blue Crush for the fourth year in a row.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – It was a record-breaking week for Kentucky and Tennessee, but Cat fans pulled off the win for the fourth year in a row in the 26th annual Big Blue Crush, 3,601 to 3,458.

“Thanks to our generous blood donors who gave us a really strong finish, we’re keeping the trophy in Kentucky for another year,” said Martha Osborne, executive director of marketing and recruitment for Kentucky Blood Center. “We saw 869 donors today, which was a Big Blue Crush record-setting day for us. Thank you to everyone who came out to donate this week. You have truly made a difference in someone’s life.”

Big Blue Crush helps ensure a sufficient blood supply for Kentucky patients during the Thanksgiving holiday and into December. The overall competition is now 13 to 12 with 1 tie.
