Big Blue Slam 2014 Jan. 24, 2014

Kentucky vs. Florida Blood Drive Opens at Rupp Arena on Monday

Big Blue Slam 2014 is Jan. 27-31.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Even though Kentucky and Florida don’t meet on the hardwood until Feb. 9, the Big Blue Nation can still show the Gators who bleeds true blue during Big Blue Slam, Jan. 27-31.

Slam gets started off big on Monday with a special home court advantage when donors can give blood at Rupp Arena from noon to 7 p.m. While there, they’ll also be able to take a shot from the court and have a chance to win a locker room tour.

KBC donor center will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and there will be a number of blood drives on University of Kentucky campus and at various other locations throughout the region.

Slam the Gators and Get a Shirt

Big Blue Slam donors will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a chance to win a ticket package for two to the SEC Tournament in Atlanta – two tickets for the Thursday through Sunday sessions in the Georgia Dome and a three-night stay at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.

Kentucky Blood Center’s sixth annual Big Blue Slam is a blood drive competition between Cat and Gator fans and Kentucky Blood Center and LifeSouth Community Blood Center in Gainesville. Kentucky leads the competition 3-2.

Big Blue Slam comes at a good time this year, after several weeks of wintry weather and canceled blood drives have impacted the blood supply.
