Eighth Annual Clean Sweep Donor Round Up June 6, 2011

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Clean Sweep Car Wash and Kentucky Blood Center are partnering to round up blood donors in the eighth annual Clean Sweep Donor Round Up, June 13-18.

Clean Sweep will provide goodie bags filled with freebies and discounts from area merchants for the first 100 donors at the Beaumont and Andover donor centers each day. Donors will also be eligible to win daily prizes, as well as a grand prize weekend getaway to Louisville.

The Clean Sweep Donor Round Up is part of KBC’s biggest summer ever. With a goal of 23,000 blood donors this summer, the blood center is asking the public to pick up the blood supply, and will present one lucky blood donor with a new Toyota Tacoma at the end of the summer. Anyone 18 and older who registers to donate through Sept. 16 is eligible to win the truck.

Kentucky Blood Center, the largest FDA licensed blood bank headquartered in Kentucky, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring a safe, adequate blood supply for patients at nearly 70 Kentucky hospitals and clinics in more than 60 counties. KBC relies on volunteers to collect 400 pints of blood per day to meet area patients’ needs. Over the last year KBC distributed nearly 130,000 blood components. Visit KBC at kybloodcenter.org.
