Kentucky Fans Take on the Gators Jan. 28–Feb. 1.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The fifth annual Big Blue Slam, which pits Kentucky and Florida fans in a battle for blood, will be Jan. 28–Feb. 1.
Besides getting a good feeling knowing they are saving lives, donors will also receive a Big Blue Slam T-shirt and a chance to win an entertainment package, which includes a 60-inch Smart TV with Wi-Fi, 3D Blue-ray entertainment center and PlayStation 3.
“Big Blue Slam is fun for donors and a good way to kick off the New Year,” said Kentucky Blood Center President and CEO Bill Reed. “In the winter, snow or ice can cancel blood drives or create transportation problems for donors, and that can really impact the blood supply. Big Blue Slam can help offset those issues by having blood on the shelves when it’s needed this winter.”
Kentucky won last year and leads the rivalry 3 to 1.

To tip off Big Blue Slam, KBC is holding the first-ever blood drive in Rupp Arena from noon to 7 p.m. Monday. Rupp donors will be invited to take a shot on the court.
Donors can give at the following four KBC donor centers, which will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during Slam, or at any area blood drive:
