S&S Tire $15,000 Charity Challenge Begins Soon April 27, 2012

Fifth Annual Competition Runs May 1-31

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the fifth year in a row, Kentucky charities will be recruiting blood donors in hopes of winning cash in the S&S Tire $15,000 Charity Challenge.

Charity Challenge has a dual purpose – helping ensure enough blood is available and providing financial support for charities. During May, 29 participating charities will be asking their friends and supporters to give blood in the name of the charity at any Kentucky Blood Center donor center or blood drive.

S&S Tire will award $3,500 to the top winners in each region (Lexington, Pikeville and Somerset) and $1,500 to the runner-up in each region.

Donors can give blood at any KBC donor center or mobile blood drive in any of the more than 60 counties KBC serves. Charities do not have to host a blood drive to participate. In order for the charity to receive points, donors must mention the name of the charity when registering to give blood.

During the promotion, the standings will be updated each Monday on KBC’s website (www.kybloodcenter.org) and Facebook page (facebook.com/kybloodcenter).
