The Impact of Your Blood Donation

After you leave a Kentucky Blood Center donation location, the work to save lives has just begun.

All blood donated at KBC undergoes rigorous testing for safety and quality control, is processed in KBC's Components Lab at the Beaumont facility in Lexington to maximize every donation, and ultimately ends up in KBC's distribution arm, Hospital Services, to be shipped to more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky.

From there, hospitals use your donation to treat local patients that need blood for traumas, diseases like cancer, surgeries, organ transplants, blood disorders, premature births and so much more.

Join one of our partners, UK HealthCare, as they take you on the vein-to-vein journey of your blood.

Ready to Save More Lives?

Of course, none of this lifesaving process is possible without you. Blood cannot be manufactured. It takes the time and generosity of donors like you to ensure medical officials have the products they need to save lives. Please consider making an upcoming appointment!
