Get Healthy and Give Blood Lexington!

Lexington is celebrating it's 250th anniversary in 2025 and is kicking off its celebration with a focus on wellness. As part of the kickoff, the 250LEX committee has a goal of having 250 new blood donors donate blood with Kentucky Blood Center this January to get a healthy start in 2025.

Blood donation is vital to our community's health and wellness. There is no substitute for human blood and local hospitals rely on local donors to meet the needs of patients facing traumas, cancer and so much more. Kentucky Blood Center was started in 1968 by Lexington doctors to ensure a healthy blood supply for area hospitals. We are the sole supplier of blood to every Lexington hospital.

Lexington donors can visit either KBC donor center location – Andover or Beaumont – throughout the month to join in the 250LEX celebration. Donor centers are open Mondays–Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Blood donation takes just 30-45 minutes. That quick visit to KBC will get you a fun, free day at the popular amusement park in Cincinnati – not to mention it will save up to three lives.
