Big Blue Slam 2026

We crushed Tennessee in the fall. Now it's time to slam Florida this winter.

Big Blue Slam is Jan. 26–30 at all Kentucky Blood Center locations, and Kentucky fans are needed to win the competition vs. Florida and boost the winter blood supply. The annual blood battle vs. LifeSouth Community Blood Center helps stock the blood shelves in the winter months when weather and illness can hinder collections. KBC leads the competition with the Gators 11-6 and has won the last five years. 

Donors can give at any of KBC’s eight donor centers or mobile drives throughout the week. Most KBC donor centers, listed below, are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during Big Blue Slam (please see specific donor centers for exceptions). Mobile drives, including at the University of Kentucky, can be found below.

Donors will receive an exclusive Big Blue Slam T-shirt as a thank you for saving local lives.

About Kentucky Blood Center

KBC, the largest independent, full-service, nonprofit blood center in Kentucky, has been saving local lives since 1968. Licensed by the FDA, KBC’s sole purpose is to collect, process and distribute blood for patients in Kentucky. KBC provides services in 90 Kentucky counties and has donor centers in Lexington, Louisville, Frankfort, Pikeville, Somerset and the Tri-County area (Corbin).
