KBC Donor Portal Changes

Kentucky Blood Center recently transitioned to a new software for donor scheduling, recruitment and staffing. The goal is to streamline and simplify some of KBC's operations.

Like any software transition, there are wrinkles to iron out. We apologize for any temporary inconveniences this transition may cause. KBC is working diligently to address concerns.

New Donor Portal and Drive Locator

Donor Login

Donors will need to create a login when visiting the new donor portal for the first time. Donors will have access to their normal health screening data, appointment history and online scheduling through the donor portal.

Drive Locator

Find a drive near you! Please see below on how to navigate the new donor portal.

Navigating the Donor Portal

On the drive locator page, donors can utilize four different options to find a drive nearby outlined below:

  1. Donate Near You: Input the address/location nearest to you or click “Use My Current Location” (location services are enabled on your device). The "Address" and "When do you want to donate" fields must be filled in. You can choose your procedure of choice by using the "What do you want to donate" filter, but please note this is optional. Adjust the "How far are you willing to travel" bar to filter options nearer to or farther from your area. Any locations open to the public within your mileage range will now appear. Once all fields are filled, click “Find Drives.” On this new page, select your donation location by selecting the day of choice, your donation location of choice and your time. Please note that donation options will be within a 30-day range of your original date of choice on the previous screen. Select “Confirm Appointment” to register through your donor login or as a guest.

  2. Search By Donor Centers: Choose your preferred Donor Center location. Both the procedure and date filters are optional. Click “View Calendar” for a calendar-view display of your desired donor center with available slots to choose from. On the new page, select your donation of choice and click through to confirm your appointment.

  3. Search By City: Input the city you'd like to give in, as well as a start date and end date. You can filter by procedure, but it is not required. The "Search By City" option will also allow you to include or not include mobile drives and/or donor centers in your returned results. Once your fields are entered, click “Search.”  On the new page, choose your donation location of choice and confirm your appointment.

  4. Search By Zip Code: Enter your zip code and a start and end date for your desired donation window. Optional fields include the type of procedure and whether you would like to search for mobile drives and/or donor centers. Once fields are selected, click “Search.” Please note your results will not render zip codes nearby; only drives in that specific zip code. On the new page, choose your donation location of choice and confirm your appointment.

Bookmark the Donor Portal

KBC will no longer offer an app for smartphones. Donors are encouraged to add the donor portal to their home screen for for easy access. Please watch the video tutorial or follow the steps in the blocks below. 

iPhone

1.) Navigate to kybloodcenter.org   2.) In the top right corner, select the three white bars   3.) Select "Donate"   4.) Select "Find A Drive"   5.) Select the three dots in the lower right corner   6.) Select "Share"   7.) Select "More"   8.) Select "Add to Home Screen"   9.) Name your shortcut however you'd like (ex: KBC Donor Portal)

Android

1.) Navigate to kybloodcenter.org   2. In the top right corner, select the three white bars   3). Select "Donate"   4.) Select "Find A Drive"   5.) Select the three dots in the lower right corner   6.) Select "Add Page to"   7.) Select "Home screen"   8.) Select "Add"

New Chairperson Portal

In addition to a new donor portal, there is also a new chairperson portal. The current portal can be accessed at the link below. The information currently available is limited, but a number of changes are in process to the donor portal. If you have issues logging into the chairperson portal, please contact your donor recruitment specialist.
