KBC Donor Portal Changes

Kentucky Blood Center recently transitioned to a new software for donor scheduling, recruitment and staffing. The goal is to streamline and simplify some of KBC's operations.

Like any software transition, there are wrinkles to iron out. We apologize for any temporary inconveniences this transition may cause. KBC is working diligently to address concerns.

Navigating the Donor Portal

On the drive locator page, donors can utilize the current location feature (donor's computer or mobile device must have location settings turned on) or type in a city, county or zip code to find a drive in a specific location. Donors can select their procedure of choice, the date and a distance they are willing to travel.

Please note that the drive distance currently defaults to five miles and will only pick up drives and donor centers within that distance. Donors can toggle different distances to open up more opportunities. 

Once those fields have been selected, donors should click/tap "Find Drives." Available drives within the previous parameters will now display within a 30-day range of the date selected. On this new page, donors can change procedures and location. To select a new date range, a donor must navigate back to the previous page.

Once a drive has been identified, click/tap the desired drive. That will take the donor to the drive page where available appointments are displayed. Click/tap the appointment time of choice. 

Bookmark the Donor Portal

KBC will no longer offer an app for smartphones. Donors are encouraged to add the donor portal to their home screen for for easy access. Please watch the video tutorial or follow the steps in the blocks below. 

iPhone

  1. Navigate to kybloodcenter.org 
  2. In the top right corner, select the three white bars
  3. Select "Donate"
  4. Select "Find A Drive"
  5. Select the three dots in the lower right corner
  6. Select "Share"
  7. Select "More"
  8. Select "Add to Home Screen"
  9. Name your shortcut however you'd like (ex: KBC Donor Portal)

Android

  1. Navigate to kybloodcenter.org 
  2. In the top right corner, select the three white bars
  3. Select "Donate"
  4. Select "Find A Drive"
  5. Select the three dots in the lower right corner
  6. Select "Add Page to"
  7. Select "Home screen"
  8. Select "Add"

New Chairperson Portal

In addition to a new donor portal, there is also a new chairperson portal. The current portal can be accessed at the link below. The information currently available is limited, but a number of changes are in process to the donor portal. If you have issues logging into the chairperson portal, please contact your donor recruitment specialist.
