Clean Sweep Blood Drive Offers $40,000 in Prizes to Donors July 8, 2008

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The annual Clean Sweep Blood Donor Round Up provides more than $40,000 in prizes to encourage much-needed summer blood donations July 7-12 in Fayette and Richmond counties.

“Clean Sweep and the other businesses will help ensure there is blood for patients during Trauma Season," said KBC spokesperson Jim Tinker. "You never know when an accident is going to demand the gift of life."

The first 100 donors each day at the Lexington Donor Center, 3121 Beaumont Centre Circle, are guaranteed a prize.

Every donor will receive a Clean Sweep Super Works Car Wash valued at $25 as well as a commemorative T-shirt and be entered into the drawings for prizes. Gift certificates and getaway trips being given away include:

In Richmond, there will be a blood drive on Thursday, July 10 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Madison County Library, 507 W. Main St.

The Kentucky Blood Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring a safe, adequate blood supply for 67 Kentucky hospitals and clinics thanks to generous blood donors in more than 60 Kentucky counties.
