Donate Like Dolly Extended at Kentucky Blood Center Sept. 25, 2026

Special-Edition Shirt Available for Donors Sept. 28–Oct. 3 at Donor Centers

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Due to the overwhelming response earlier this month, Kentucky Blood Center is bringing back Dolly Parton shirts Sept. 28–Oct. 3 at all donor centers.

In remembrance of “the Queen of Country” who died on Aug. 25, KBC dubbed Sept. 4 “Donate Like Dolly Day” at KBC. To honor Dolly’s propensity to give to others, KBC asked donors to give blood in her memory. In return, KBC had an exclusive Dolly shirt for donors and contributed $5 to Parton’s Imagination Library for every donation.

Demand was so high that KBC has extended the opportunity to this Monday through Saturday. The celebration is at KBC donor centers only. Shirts and sizes are while supplies last.

The pink shirt features Parton’s iconic blonde hair and a famous quote. The contribution to the Imagination Library will go to the Kentucky arm of the program, which delivers books to children from birth to age 5 to encourage reading and learning for young children.

Most KBC donor centers are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please check specific locations below, visit kybloodcenter.org/donate/donor-center-locations or call 800.775.2522. KBC has eight donor centers in six cities across Kentucky (Lexington, Louisville, Corbin, Frankfort, Pikeville and Somerset).

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome.
