Donor Appreciation Day: $20 Amazon Gift Cards at KBC on Monday Aug. 6, 2023

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Twenty-dollar Amazon gift cards are back at Kentucky Blood Center!

Continuing the nonprofit’s “Save Our Summer” campaign – a summerlong effort to thank donors for boosting the blood supply during meager collection periods – KBC will reward all donors who give blood Monday, Aug. 7 at a KBC donor center with a $20 Amazon gift card.

The Save Our Summer promotion began in late May, meaning all donors have had an opportunity to take advantage of a “Donor Appreciation Day.” Additional opportunities will take place before the summer ends, but time is running out for donors wishing to capitalize on the gift-card giveaway.  

Local lifesavers can schedule an appointment at one of KBC’s eight donor centers at kybloodcenter.org/donate/donor-center-locations, by clicking on a donor center link below or by calling 800.775.2522. All donor centers are open Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome.

Blood collected at KBC serves patients at more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky for everything from surgeries to diseases like cancer, traumas, organ transplants, premature births and so much more.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org.
