Drive for Life Begins May 17 May 13, 2013

Blood Donors Can Pump Up Blood Supply, Win New Car

2013 Toyota Prius

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Blood Center kicks off a summer celebration of life this Friday, May 17, with Drive for Life.

“It promises to be a busy summer at KBC, with plenty of opportunities to save lives through blood donation and also reap rewards,” said KBC President and CEO Bill Reed.

Drive for Life, KBC’s summer theme, begins May 17 and runs through Sept. 13. Everyone who registers to donate at any KBC location during that time frame is automatically entered to win a 2013 Toyota Prius.

In addition, everyone who donates May 17 through May 31 is also eligible to win one of two $250 Visa cards.

Because Drive for Life runs through Sept. 13, donors can give blood and be entered into the drawing more than once this summer.

Donors can give at the following four KBC Donor Centers or at any KBC blood drive.

To find a blood drive or schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.

Blood donors must be 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must also have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org. All donors must present a photo I.D.
