Kings Island tickets.

SOMERSET, Ky. – Giving blood is getting a whole lot more fun. Those who save a life Friday, Aug. 7 at Kentucky Blood Center’s Somerset Donor Center at 10 Stonegate Centre at Stoplight 16A will be thanked with a free ticket to Kings Island.

“In the past week, nearly 500 more blood units were sent to area hospitals than were donated,” said Martha Osborne, Kentucky Blood Center’s Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment. “We’re hoping an end of summer trip to Kings Island will encourage people to give blood on Friday. What a great way to celebrate the last few weeks of summer – saving a life and riding a rollercoaster.”

Blood donated with Kentucky Blood Center stays in Kentucky where it is processed and distributed to patients in Kentucky hospitals like Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Somerset Donor Center will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome or appointments can be made by visiting kyloodcenter.org or calling 800.775.2522.
