S&S Tire $15,000 Charity Challenge Competition Begins April 29, 2011

The Fourth Annual Challenge Runs May 1-30

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentuckians have the opportunity to give to an area charity without opening their checkbooks, thanks to a unique partnership between Kentucky Blood Center and S&S Tire.

The fourth annual S&S Tire $15,000 Charity Challenge, which begins Sunday and runs through May 31, has a dual purpose – helping ensure enough blood is available and providing financial support for charities.

During the month, 32 Kentucky charities will be recruiting people to donate blood in the name of the charity.

S&S Tire will award $3,500 to the top winners in each region (Lexington, Pikeville and Somerset) and $1,500 to the runner up in each region.

Charities recruit people to give blood in the charity’s name. Donors can give blood at any KBC donor center or mobile blood drive in any of the more than 60 counties KBC serves. Charities do not have to host a blood drive to participate.

During the promotion, the standings will be updated each Monday on KBC’s website (kybloodcenter.org) and Facebook page (facebook.com/kybloodcenter).
