Charities Can Compete for Cash
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Registration is now open for the fourth annual S&S Tire $15,000 Charity Challenge.
Kentucky Blood Center is teaming up again with S&S Tire to help charities earn cash while recruiting blood donors. S&S Tire will award $3,500 to the top winners in each region (Lexington, Pikeville and Somerset) and $1,500 to the runner up in each region.
Registration begins today and runs through Friday, April 22. The actual competition takes place May 1-31. Charities and nonprofit organizations can register to participate by visiting KBC’s Facebook page – facebook.com/kybloodcenter.
Charities recruit people to give blood in the charity’s name. They can donate at any KBC donor center or mobile blood drive in any of the more than 60 counties the blood center serves. Charities do not have to host a blood drive to participate.
The winning charities from last year were: Hospice of Bluegrass and Scott County Family Resource Center (Lexington Region); Casey County Relay for Life and Andy Adkins Memorial Scholarship Fund (Somerset Region); and Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center and Health Occupation Students of America (Pikeville Region).
