LEXINGTON, Ky.– Giving blood in July will not only help Kentucky patients live, it will also give donors a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas and other great prizes.

Kentucky Blood Center’s Livin’ by Givin’ summer continues in July with a Las Vegas trip giveaway and lots of other great prizes for blood donors.

To encourage donors to help pump up the 4th of July holiday blood supply, Kentucky Blood Center will thank donors through July 5 with two movie passes to an area cinema. Those 18 and over who register to donate in July will also being entered in the Vegas vacation drawing.

Later in the month, donors will have a chance to win tickets to see Jimmy Buffett or Chicago in concert or a set of four tickets to watch the Cincinnati Reds take on the Washington Nationals on July 26.

“This summer we are Livin’ by Givin’ at KBC,” said Martha Osborne, KBC’s executive director of marketing and recruitment. “Blood donors share a priceless gift when they donate so we’d like to give them a chance to live it up at a great vacation spot. We gave away a Disney trip in June. Now July donors are eligible to win a Las Vegas trip. Those who donate in August will be entered to win a trip to the Mayan Riviera.”

The trips will be awarded this summer, but the winner has up to 12 months to make the travel arrangements and can take the trip whenever they like.

“We need to see more than 23,000 donors this summer to meet the need of the Kentucky patients we serve,” said Osborne.

The Disney and Las Vegas trips will be arranged through AAA Lexington while the Mayan Riviera all-inclusive trip to El Dorado Royale is provided by All Inclusive Outlet of Lexington.
